This adapter cable allows you to operate a more powerful water pump in the VW Grand California without cutting or soldering the original VW wiring harness. It plugs between the existing connectors, leaving the series wiring harness untouched, and you can remove the adapter at any time.

The item is available in two versions:

• Adapter cable only, if you already have your pump
• Set incl. Reich PowerJet Plus, if you need both the cable and the pump. The PowerJet Plus is the pump we supply in the set.

Why an adapter is necessary

The standard electrical system in the Grand California is designed for the original pump. A more powerful pump draws more current than the original pump signal is designed to handle long-term. The adapter cable decouples the pump load from the standard electrical system: The original signal only controls a relay, and the current for the pump runs through it with a fuse.

How it works

• The cable is plugged in between the existing connectors – no cutting, no soldering.
• An integrated relay (12 V / 30 A) switches the pump load.
• An internal 15 A fuse protects the circuit. The current draw of your pump must be below this.
• The original pump signal of the Grand California only controls the relay, no longer the pump directly.
• Installation is reversible; you can remove the adapter and restore the original condition.

Fits in

• VW Grand California 600 and 680, only up to model year 2024

From model year 2025, VW has changed the electrical system. The adapter cable is not suitable for these vehicles. Please check your model year before purchasing.

Which pump fits

The adapter is designed for a stronger 12 V submersible pump whose current draw is below the internal 15 A fuse. In our set, we supply the Reich PowerJet Plus, which at approx. 6.25 A is well within this range and fits directly. If you use the adapter cable separately, please check beforehand whether the connection of your pump matches the included plug adapters.

Honest notes

• A non-return valve is not included with the Reich pump. It can be retrofitted if required.
• After conversion, check the hose clamps in the fresh water area and switch to stainless steel if necessary.
• How much flow and pressure ultimately reaches the tap depends on the overall system: pipe length, filter, faucet, and connections all play a role. The values given are the performance data of the pump, not the guaranteed value at your tap.
