Tired of the original Thule step on your Grand California? Then it's time for an upgrade. The AlphaDynamik ETB step offers you 240 kg load capacity, LED lighting, and a smart swivel mechanism for the ideal entry height. Installation without additional drilling on your vehicle.

What sets our solution apart: We rely on the original AlphaDynamik control unit. This ensures that all functions are fully available to you: workshop mode, LED lighting, and, most importantly, pinch protection. No loose wires, no provisional connections like with other solutions. Our integration module is completely waterproof and, together with the AlphaDynamik control unit, is securely installed under the driver's seat. All technology remains inside the vehicle, not exposed to the elements like with comparable offerings. And because we use the original control unit, the Declaration of Conformity (UBB) from Volkswagen for the step is also retained. Perfect integration, maximum function, thoughtful craftsmanship.

Our three variants

Variant 1 – Step with control unit
The step including the original AlphaDynamik control unit, cable set, and LED lighting. Please note: The step must be operated manually via a switch not included in the scope of delivery. Full integration into the Grand California is not possible without additional accessories.

Variant 2 – Step with integration cable set
Includes everything from Variant 1, plus our integration cable set. This fully integrates the step into your Grand California. Control is as ex-works, without any additional switch.

• Connection as ex-works: The cable set is connected directly to the fuse box
• No loose cables: Clean, secure connections instead of provisional wiring
• Waterproof integration module: Completely potted and so robust that it could even be installed outside the vehicle. However, it is deliberately installed securely under the driver's seat
• Robust construction: All components securely potted, loose contacts excluded
• Reliable switching: Even if the KFG control unit is reset, the step remains extended and is not inadvertently actuated
• Easy routing: The cable set can be easily routed under the vehicle to the fuse box

Variant 3 – Complete with installation
Includes everything from Variant 1 and 2. In addition, the step is professionally assembled and integrated into the vehicle system by us in Kempen (47906).

Compatibility

The step fits 2WD and 4Motion vehicles. Our integration cable set works with all Grand California models including the facelift from MY2025. The cable set can be used without soldering, the power connection is made via the fuse box under the driver's seat. All necessary cables and fuses are included in the scope of delivery.

Important before purchase

The factory-installed step must function perfectly before installation, and faultless control must be ensured. Installation must be carried out by a qualified person.

Shipping and payment

Delivery is in two packages. PayPal is not available as a payment method when purchasing the step due to fees.

Warranty

Our integration cable set is not part of the UBB. Whether Volkswagen restricts warranty claims in individual cases is at the discretion of VWN. If you have any questions about this, we recommend contacting your VWN partner directly. We are liable for our cable set within the framework of the statutory warranty, AlphaDynamik for the step. Damages due to improper installation are not covered.
